Pretaro — Privacy Policy
What Pretaro is
Pretaro is a browser extension and companion desktop app for parts traders. The extension looks up part prices on distributor websites inside your own logged-in browser sessions, and only when you explicitly run a lookup.
Data we handle
- Part searches and results. The part numbers you search and the resulting price/stock rows are sent to your organization's private workspace on our server to power quoting and price history. They are retained for 90 days and are visible only inside your organization.
- Supplier onboarding snapshots. When you connect a new supplier, snapshots of that supplier's result pages may be captured to build the extraction configuration. These are stored on our server, scoped to your organization.
- Local desktop connection. The extension talks to the companion desktop app over a local connection on 127.0.0.1. This carries lookup requests and results and never leaves your machine.
What we never collect
- Supplier usernames, passwords, cookies, or session tokens. Lookups ride your browser's own logged-in sessions; your credentials are never read, stored, or transmitted.
- Your browsing history.
- Data from any site other than the distributor sites you connect.
We do not sell or share your data with third parties. There are no ads and no analytics trackers.
Permissions, in plain language
Access to distributor sites is optional and granted per site by you when you connect a supplier. The extension only acts when you run a lookup.
Storage and security
Data travels over HTTPS. Server data is scoped to your organization, and search results are pruned after 90 days.
